Welcome to our Fall Blog Hop! If you’re coming over from Wendy at At Lane and High, welcome!
Fall is my favorite.
Always has been.
The colors, the changes in the weather, the holidays- favorites.

Fall at our house shows up in pumpkins and gourds, pillows and blankets and tiny touches. I love using “real” decor when I can.
I’ve just started with some simple touches around the house.

The painted settee (yes the fabric is painted too) and the crocks are a mainstay- I just switch out what is around/on them to reflect the seasons.
Does your dog eat pumpkins- well, ours does. I found that out the first year we adopted him when I noticed one of my beautiful blue pumpkins had a large chunk out of it! So, these are here for now until he decides to start gnawing on them. He already ate that sweet little white pumpkin on top right after I snapped this picture.
This is the first Fall with the Magnolia wallpaper in the dining room, so I kept the colors very neutral in here.
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen this new addition. This was a very large, heavy mirror that I got at my favorite resale store for $5. It was in the garage when it was “accidentally” knocked over and the mirror shattered into a billion pieces. You may think, well that’s the end of that, but no- I painted the piece that was covering the back of the mirror with black chalkboard paint and voila! Now it’s a very large chalkboard, not a very large mirror.

I spray painted almost all of these pumpkins white. I had completely forgotten about them. They were in a box in the basement. They are from when our oldest was about a year and a half old! A few of them have bite marks in them from when he tried to eat them! I’m keeping them simply to remember that funny phase. They were red and orange and brown- a can of flat white spray paint changed that! The candle holders are from Target years ago and those candles are real beeswax that my Uncle made.
That’s it for now! I’ll be adding more here and there and decorating more outdoors as the weather starts turning. Most of this will stay up until Thanksgiving- my favorite holiday of all. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the rush of bringing out Christmas decor, but waiting until after Thanksgiving helps us stay in the moment 🙂
Enjoy this change of season. I’ll leave with one of my favorite quotes…
“The trees are about to show us how lovely it is to let go.”
